Harvest Mice

The harvest mouse (Micromys minutes) is the smallest European rodent and can weigh as little as 4 grams; that’s less than the weight of a human eye! It has a prehensile tail which is the same length as the mouse’s head and body combined. Harvest mice live in a variety of habitats, but are often found in the vicinity of cereal crops.

These photographs were shot with a macro lens around harvest time in deepest Dorset.
